9. Error when adding an Email/Phone Communication Method
If you see the message “Communication Type does exist” in red, and both the Communication Type and Email Address fields are outlined in green, it means the email you’re trying to add is already in use.
To proceed, either:
- Use a different email address, or
- Change the current primary email to another address, then re-add the original email as an additional contact.
10. The Patient QR Code icon is grey so I cannot display a QR code.
If you are trying to supply your patient with a QR code (located to the right of the patient’s surname) and see that the QR code icon is grey, this means you do not have permissions set up for your account and patient(s).
Contact the administrator of the EMR portal and request access to it. Once this is done, the QR code will no longer be grey; it will be black. For the viewed patient, selecting the QR code icon will display the Patient QR Code that you can take a screenshot of and email to your patient. They must register within the 30-minute expiry time of the code.
